Acceptance and eligibility
By installing, creating an account, purchasing hours, or using Live Subtitles, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to enter this agreement and meet age requirements for Chrome, our payment provider, and your country.
What Live Subtitles provides
Live Subtitles captures audio from a browser tab the user explicitly selects, sends it from the user's browser to our speech provider, and displays the returned transcript and translation in an on-page overlay. It may include account, usage history, subscription, and hour-pack features.
The service requires a supported Chrome environment, internet connection, available hours, and compatible tab audio. One active subtitle session is allowed per account.
Your account
Sign-in uses Google. You are responsible for your account and for access to the Google account behind it. Do not share sign-in tokens or attempt to bypass account, session, or metering controls. Notify Support promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
A new verified account receives the starter grant once. Creating duplicate accounts to obtain repeat starter grants is prohibited. We may withhold or reverse grants associated with fraud, abuse, refunds, disputes, or duplicated payment events.

Starter hours are consumed first, monthly hours second, and pack hours last. Usage is measured from PCM audio accepted and forwarded for interpretation. A session streams continuously from start to stop, including silence. Displayed time may be rounded, while the server ledger is authoritative.
Payments, renewal, cancellation, and refunds
Prices are shown in US dollars. Taxes, exchange costs, or local charges may apply. Stripe processes payment details on hosted pages. The monthly plan renews automatically each billing period at the price shown at checkout until cancelled. Users can cancel future renewal through the Stripe customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period unless stated otherwise at checkout.
A failed or cancelled renewal does not create a new monthly allowance. Cancelling a subscription does not remove unused persistent starter or pack hours. Hour packs are one-time purchases and do not auto-renew.
Checkout and portal return pages are informational only. A browser redirect does not grant hours or establish subscription status; verified Stripe events and the authenticated account service are authoritative.
Except where applicable law or the checkout terms require otherwise, used hours are non-refundable. Refund and dispute outcomes may remove associated unused credits. Contact Support with the account email, purchase date, and Stripe receipt identifier; never send a full card number or authentication token.
Your responsibilities and acceptable use
You agree to:
- process only audio you are permitted to access and send to the service;
- comply with applicable law, platform rules, and third-party terms;
- not use the service for unlawful surveillance, rights infringement, abuse, security testing without permission, or disruption;
- not resell accounts or hours or circumvent authentication, metering, quotas, or one-session limits; and
- not rely on automated subtitles as certified legal, medical, emergency, or professional interpretation.
Third-party services
Live Subtitles depends on Chrome and on the identity, cloud, payment, and speech providers described in the Privacy Policy. Those services operate under their own terms, privacy policies, availability, geographic support, pricing, and technical limits, and are not available on every network or in every country. Provider changes may affect Live Subtitles.
Translation accuracy
Automated speech recognition and translation can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong, especially with noise, music, overlapping speakers, names, specialist language, or weak audio. Do not rely on Live Subtitles where an error could cause harm, loss, or a missed emergency instruction. Verify important information through an authoritative source or qualified interpreter.
Availability and warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free output, a specific latency, suitability for a purpose, or compatibility with every tab, website, language, browser, country, or third-party service.
To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of data, translation errors, missed content, service interruption, or unauthorized account use. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.
Suspension, termination, and changes
We may restrict or terminate access for abuse, fraud, security risk, legal requirements, unpaid charges, or material breach. Users may stop using the service, cancel renewal, and request account deletion at any time. Features, prices, or terms may change prospectively; material changes will be posted with a revised date and, where required, advance notice. Price changes do not apply retroactively to completed one-time purchases.
